This head-turning Marie Antoinette costume was made from an old mannequin, a pillow, fabric and glue. "I dressed up my hubby as a poor bourgeois with his eyes plucked out, and we made a dashing pair," says the creator.

WALL-E

This little boy was 4 years old when he dressed up as WALL-E for Halloween, but instead of spending money on a pre-made costume he'd only wear once, his father showed him how to make his own out of used computer boxes and packaging materials.

Witch

Much older than Halloween itself is the figure of the witch, which has taken different forms over the years in different parts of the world.

Sweet Treats

Two adorable girls  in cupcake and cotton candy costumes. These sweet designs were made from recycled tights, leggings, a laundry basket and bits of fabric. So cute!

This whimsical costume is made out of a  cooler, foam wig head, old clothes, a backpack, cardboard and a few flourishes from a costume shop.
